John Dinsmore - Secretary
John has been playing the bagpipes since 1960.
John has been a member of the band since its beginning as The Greater Grimsby Pipe Band. He was born in Ireland and came to Canada as a teenager. A love of pipe music was nurtured by thirty years service in The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada, the highlight of which was command of the regiment in the mid-eighties. He now serves as the Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel and plays pipes in Regimental Association Pipes and Drums. In civilian life John was a teacher in Lincoln County, retiring as a Vice-principal. He and his wife Carol reside in Grimsby. They are avid Scottish Country Dancers. dinsmorejohn72@gmail.com |
